2018 brought in a great deal of lava flow for the island, covering almost double the area than the previous lava flows. The lava has not only invaded Leilani Estates, but has also Isaac Hale Park and Kahonua as well. Judging by the spread of the lava flow, many more buildings were destroyed in the process.
